Called a month in advance to request a room on a higher floor and ended up on 8 (out of 22). Not a lovely view but ok, I understand requests cannot be guaranteed. Booked a suite to enjoy a special family weekend. Junior suite advertised as having a bathroom tub with separate shower and double vanity. Our room had a walk in shower and a small sink with nearly no vanity. Difficult for 3 ladies. Also, Do not expect to put much in the very mini, mini fridge. We used our Tetris skills trying to fit the leftovers from The shore house in hotel restaurant. Side note… Both restaurants had great food. No microwave in room to reheat said leftovers. GREAT location if you want to skate on the canal. Didn’t see the value is the cost for the suite sadly. It sounds like the better option would be to book a regular room with a Parliament view.

My husband and I love staying here. This time was made extra special by Angela, who checked us in and made us feel extra special. The room's view was exceptional and oh so quiet. It was spacious and very clean. Thank you Angela for helping us celebrate. We will never forgot your kindness and attention to detail. 💕

Haven’t stayed at The Westin Ottawa yet, but it’s hard to miss how well‑positioned and polished this hotel is. Every time I pass by, it feels like one of the anchors of downtown — right beside the Rideau Centre, steps from the Canal, and only a short walk to Parliament Hill. The building has that clean, modern look, and the lobby always seems lively with guests coming and going. Even from the outside, it gives the impression of a place that runs smoothly and stays consistently busy, especially on winter weekends when people are skating or exploring the area. Looking forward to experiencing the inside one day, but as a landmark in the core, it already stands out. Update: Thank you, Ross — I truly appreciate your kind response. The Westin Ottawa has always stood out to me as a landmark in the downtown core, and your thoughtful reply just reinforces that impression. I look forward to experiencing the inside one day and sharing more moments when the time comes. Until then, I’ll keep admiring the energy and presence your hotel brings to the city.

Overall, a standard Westin experience: comfortable bed + bedding, generally good service. I had an issue with a noisy suite above me each night that was not addressed well by the night manager, but when I spoke to manager Japreet in the morning, he took care of the issue and ensured it was resolved to my satisfaction. This review would have been two stars for service if it had not been for Japreet- he is an excellent manager and a great ambassador for this Westin and the overall brand. He saved this stay (and this review) One star deducted for the rooms as they need a refresh (badly)- peeling wallpaper, dirt on the ceilings, chips and scuffs on most of the furniture (small things, but Westin is a premium brand per Marriott). One small miss at check-in was properly offering the benefits available for my level- I had to ask for breakfast after all I was offered was points.
