I remember staying here in the summer of 1971 as a little boy on vacation with my family. I can't believe I found this place online. The cabins haven't changed much from the outside. I almost caught a marten that looked so cute but was anything but. The ranger told my mom it would have ate me up if she hadn't yelled at me not to. I remember they were a lot of black bears in the area too back then and we couldn't leave food out and had to take care of the garbage properly. It is now on my bucket list to return here. So many great memories.

We have been staying here for over ten years and love each moment here! This family owned Lodge and bungalows was sold recently after 60 years with 3 generations of ownership but the new owners smartly have 2 incredible, warm, smart, caring woman running the day to day operations. Seamlessly run! The cottages are clean and quiet and spacious. Lovely outdoor seating areas, a coin operated laundry that is so appreciated, amazing flowers everywhere! We stay in the row away from the road and do not hear any traffic noise…an occasional train, which I enjoy! Highly recommend. We have already booked our 3 nights for next fall💓🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦.

NEW MANAGEMENT AFTER 56 YEARS. Reviews prior to this will no longer apply. This doesn’t have to be bad, or good, but it could be. Banff Lodging Co recently bought from the Pedersen family that owned it for 56 years. So, it’ll be more institutional and corporate moving forward. It’ll gradually lose the little things that make it unique. On the other hand, Banff Co winterized the lodge (not the bungalows) so we can stay here in the winter. Which was very nice. There is still no restaurant or anywhere to buy food so you need to drive to eat - or make your own. Some units come with a kitchen if you feel like cooking. It’s a bit of a double edged sword. You give up convenience for a slower pace and uncrowded surroundings. For us it was a perfect vacation. For others, it may be the opposite of what they’re looking for. How a more corporate approach will work for this small spot will be curious to watch. For now? Still great for those that want off the beaten path.

We stayed at Paradise Lodge and Bungalows for one night as a couple. The room appeared generally tidy upon arrival, but our overall experience was unfortunately very disappointing. The main issue was the temperature. The room was extremely cold — so cold that we did not feel comfortable taking off our coats. We noticed the heater control was set to the maximum and waited for about 2h, but the room did not warm up at all. Then we attempted to contact the front desk for help, but did not receive a response. As a result, we had no choice but to endure the cold throughout the night, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. We later discovered a yellow, sticky liquid on the toilet seat lid. By the next morning, the amount of liquid had increased, appearing as if it was dripping from above. Unfortunately, since the front desk was unresponsive, we were unable to report the issue or understand its cause.
