This hotel is terrible! It looks okay online but don’t be fooled! My husband and I unexpectedly had to book a room for work training he needed to do in Burnaby. We called around to find a hotel that would allow a late checkout so I could spend time in the room while he was doing his course. We called the Ramada Coquitlam and were told we could check out at 12:30. We drove the 30 mins to the hotel and when we approached the front desk, the receptionist was arguing with a customer. When it was our turn to go up I tried to lighten the situation by telling her we are just checking in. We noticed on the paperwork that it didn’t confirm the late checkout. When we asked her about it she said that the switchboard doesn’t know their policies and they don’t allow 12:30 checkout times. We explained we drove further just for that checkout time. She got angry and repeatedly told us she will cancel our reservation. She was rude. She did agree to a 12pm checkout eventually and we stayed. I mentioned to her that I now understand why the last customer was upset as well if this is how they do business. There are no elevators. No help. We had to haul our bags up the stairs to our room. The room was absolutely freezing and there was no thermostat in the room to adjust the temperature. Thankfully we happened to have a space heater in the car that we brought up. They also don’t have any water in the room or usb charging ports. The room itself was so dirty. Hair and residue everywhere. It was old and you could tell had flooded at some point due to the water damage on all the baseboards. The headboard had splashes of white who knows what all over it. Side tables weren’t wiped. This was by far the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in. The bathtub faucet also ran all night long which kept me up and the walls are so thin that I could hear the person next to me blowing their nose constantly. There were no smart TV’s so the only option was cable with nothing on. It was just a terrible place to stay all around. I definitely do not recommend. The staff were rude and the hotel is a total dump.

Overall pretty good experience. We stay two nights in two different rooms, as we were not expecting to stay the second night. Fairly clean but the age of the building is showing. You can hear people in other rooms, especially when you have an adjoining room with a door. Then it is very loud. The doors slam loudly, like a lot of hotels. If your door is not all the way closed, it will make a beeping noise until it is. Check-in was quite slow both times, even though we did the self check-in, there was only ever one staff member at the front. The pool area was dated but the kids enjoyed a couple of swims. Pool hours are currently 10am - 10pm. Check-out was fast both times. The first time I used the online check-out, the second time I did not. Compared to other hotels in the area, it is pretty good quality for the price.

My stay was generally positive - much better than a lot of the reviews lead me to believe I was going to have. The room was small and simple but in reasonable condition for a hotel of this level/price. Everything was clean including floors, bathroom and linens. A few superficial issues - the AC/heat was very noisy when turning on and off, the shower head is at about 5' and the fridge was only slightly colder than the room. Next time I'm looking to stay in Coquitlam I'd probably see if there is anything else around for a similar price first but would have no issues staying here again in the future.

Ive choose this hotel every time i come to town. Its very convenient a few minute walk to Lougheed mall and skytrain station. They have kitchenette, but also rooms with the basic small fridge and microwave. Ive had great experience here. Only down side is I put my food down on the night stand for a few minutes, about to pick up and it was covered in small ants (December time)
