We just had an amazing 7 night stay at this hotel and I only can say that we’re very impressed. We often stay at Hilton’s (70+ nights a year) but for some reason we never stayed at this property. Well; from now on Doublteree Place des Arts is our number one choice while in Montreal. First, the staff (yes, people always come first). Check in process was efficient (we waited in a priority line and the regular line was moving quicker so we were prioritized which was a nice personal touch). Second, the room. We opted for a suite and wow it was spacious, modern, functional and very quiet which we loved. Great views from our room were guaranteed (I believe all rooms have it but still). Third, the lounge service was limited and we were given vouchers to use at the restaurant. First evening there there was a little bump and confusion so we stopped using vouchers but guess what - a front desk lady asked us why we’re not using them so we explained why and the issue got resolved, very much to our satisfaction. This is very important because people at Doubletree not only care but they take pride at what they do, and they do it really well. So thank you everyone who treated us so well, and we hope to be back soon - definitely at Doubletree Downtown! Bonne année !

Edit: Feb 28 - still no return call Edit: Feb 11- still no return call Edit: I have left a voicemail for the hotel manager of guest services, as was suggested below, on Feb 6- awaiting a return phone call. The link posted below takes me to a page for telephone numbers. - not helpful at all. This is the same run around we received when trying to cancel. Hotel is clean and quiet. Rooms are adequate. Beds were very soft and worn, lacking support. Not good if you need back support. Dining had a good selection and food was tasty, good quality, and attentive service. I wouldn't recommend pre booking this hotel. We cancelled our second nights stay. Double tree told us to contact booking.com to cancel. Booking.com contacted double tree but advised us that the hotel wouldn't cancel. The hotel clearly needed our money since they weren't full. There are plenty of hotels in that area to choose from. We won't return after this poor customer service.

Had a great stay at the DoubleTree Montreal. The location is excellent in regard to where it’s located downtown and the service is mostly great from the majority of the staff. They have good value by including the breakfast and self serve after hours options (these are at additional costs) for snacks, coffee etc. The rooms are nice but not incredibly unique, no issue for a 4 star. There are quiet hours from 11-8am and they are respected which is nice when travelling for business. Shoutout to Alex in room service, he showed great service and is very friendly.

We originally booked a room with two queen beds to accommodate two adults and two children. Upon arrival, we were informed that this room type was no longer available and were instead moved to a room (1430) with one king-size bed and a sofa bed. While we understood the change in availability, we were assured at the time by Joshua at reception that we would receive a discount due to the downgrade in room configuration, that the sofa bed would be prepared, and that a rollaway bed would be sent to the room. Minutes after settling into our room, another family knocked on our door twice, believing it was their assigned room, as they had been given the same room number (they showed us the key jacket). This was extremely unsettling and created confusion and discomfort for our family, especially with children present. Housekeeping never came to the room to make the sofa bed or deliver the rollaway bed, and my husband took it upon himself to go down to reception a couple of hours after check-in to request for the extra bed and for the sofa bed to be made. We tried calling but no one picked up the phone. Housekeeping showed up with sheets and a pillow and my husband was left to make the bed himself for our children. The extra bed never arrived. Upon reviewing our charges after leaving the hotel, we were very surprised and disappointed to see that on top of not receiving a discount, we were actually charged extra for hotel parking even though we did not use it. My husband had parked his car himself and paid for parking directly at the parking lot. The bathroom was also a disappointment. Although we were provided with two bath towels (for four people) , one of them had one large and several small holes—so large that it was essentially unusable. It was frustrating and surprising to see such a damaged towel offered to guests. We value the Hilton brand and chose DoubleTree expecting a smooth and family friendly experience. Unfortunately, this stay fell short of those expectations and was more reminiscent of an episode of Faulty Towers.
