The concept is cool and the location is good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were "upgraded" to a room with no carpet. The rooms were very spacious but honestly I don't know the last time someone wiped a wall or cleaned a baseboard. It was so dirty. The hotel could definitely improve on the cleanliness. I guess our upgrade was worth it. I wouldn't want to see the carpet! If you're only looking for a one night stay it would be fine.

The original suite was not cleaned very well, and we had to switch to a different one due to pipes that wouldn't drain. Wifi (in both rooms) was spotty (and only ended up working due to my friend being an installer). The second suite we went into only had power in the second room but that was fixed as soon as we asked about it. The staff are very nice and friendly, and the price is cheap for the suites given. Very nice kitchenette, comfortable beds. The pool and sauna on the top floor are wonderful as well, and honestly I would come and stay here again.

Hope your upgraded rooms are better renovated but the room I stayed in was need of a updated. Everything is dirty and have seen better days. The first room that we were offered the sofabed had holes in the cushions. We asked to be change in rooms and the new room was decent but needs to be better. I understand it is a 3* hotel and most other 3* doesn't have a kitchen but the hotel needs to change its furniture and touch up in paint. Good location, good price, nice front staff.

La Tour Belvedere popped up when looking for an affordable place to stay in Montreal, and I am glad we chose it. The prices were good and the rooms included everything we wanted (and more, in some regards). The location is very good; walking distance to busy areas, to food and shopping, and very close to transit. Arrival was easy and we were immediately told that we were moved up because of renovations that are going on. The rooms were not perfect, so it is great to hear that renos are happening. I don't want to talk down the place because both of us were happy; we received good accommodations with cheaper rates! But for future users to know what to expect: The hotel is an older one, as far as modern buildings go. There are newer things, like keycards and the good TV in the rooms - but things do die their age, like the doors and a phone line, and there were a couple patches on the walls that you notice here and there. Our room did look good upon arrival. The kitchen included a full-sized fridge with freezer, stove and sink. There were cooking tools, a toaster, kettle, and cutlery. The building has a lot of long term tenants, so I could see that was set up for apartment residents, but it was also very useful for us as hotel guests. The bathroom was good; everything worked well, but, again, some things showed their age - like how the lights heated the room. The shower was nice, and the soaps and shampoos provided were a bonus. The deck had a great view, it's a nice size and a fun place to hang out on. The 2 doors leading to it like an airlock weren't pretty but are beneficial for heat and light - I really appreciated them each morning. The curtains also worked well and the air conditioner worked even better. The bed was a great size for 2 people, the mattress seemed a good quality because you couldn't tell the other person was moving. The pillows were not great, but the sheets were just right for the room. The couch was nice to sit on, and the tables were convenient. The outlets in the walls in the main room were not in the best spots for charging devices (more hidden like outlets were in the 20th century) - although everything did work well, outlets and appliances, both in the kitchen and in the main room. We are very happy we stayed here, it was a good place and we'll be looking at it for our next visit.
