I live in the big apartment building around the corner of this hotel. I travel for work and after being gone for 8 months, I returned to my apartment to find I had no power and my whole fridge had a rotting stinking smell. My power bills were paid in advance, no issues with my account yet the power company could not immediately help me or tell me why this happened so I checked in this hotel at 10 pm after flying all day since 4am. I was exhausted. The room cost me $253 a night, steep price that included a $50 damage deposit. The first room they gave me had loud shouting kids next door and it had a connecting door so I could hear everything. Went back to ask to change rooms but they had nothing available. The super kind young man at front desk told me a king room at $40 more a night was available but that was too expensive for me so I asked a refund so I can go somewhere else. Since I was exhausted I decided to take my chance and ask him for a free upgrade and he agreed so for that young man working in the evening of Saturday Jan 31, I give him a 5 star but the hotel itself is poor. Rooms don’t have microwaves , only fridge. My king room had dirty rugs with debris, not vacuumed. Door were dirty, pillows stunk of bad BO! Hair in the sink and tub, a Keurig machine but no coffee pods. At some point the hydro crew were at my apartment and arrived to restore my power so I left the hotel to allow them access to my apartment . The security guard in the lobby stopped me and when I asked him why , he didn’t speak English! So yes, the hotel is run by Indian temporary worker. At 7:30 am the next day I was awoken by a shouting kids who would not stop shouting and having her tantrum for 2 hours. Hotel security went twice to their door but they didn’t stop. At some point even I came out and had a shouting match with the lady who claimed not to speak English ( so I spoke French to her) . Sunday morning and I couldn’t even sleep in to make my $253 worth! Then of course I had no coffee and upon calling reception I was told to come down and get it! I don’t recommend this hotel. Pay an extra $40 and have a decent night of sleep at the holiday inn down the road. This hotel is too old, run down, dirty and when you have to beg for an upgrade and beg for coffee, you know the staff have zero customer service skills. PS I am a Wyndham rewards high status member on top of that. Never again!

I checked into the Days Inn Hotel in Ottawa when my apartment was being chemically treated for a few hours. Stayed overnight with my dog Harriet and we had a good time. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, given the Canadian economy and location. Hotels that welcome dogs are rare and I appreciate those who do. Good job. Peace.

This hotel is tired would be the nicest thing I can say about the Days Inn Ottawa. My room and the hallways are are dark and dingy. The lighting in the room doesn't help - too dim. The phone in the room didn't work. I found this out when trying to call the front desk to come replace the broken toilet seat. I had to call (on my own phone) twice to get that seat repaired. I was their for three nights and my room never got made up. I spent some time on my first day working in the room. When I first went out, housekeeping was cleaning the neighbouring room. I let them them know that I would be out of the room at these specific times. They came back twice but both were times that I had told them I would be in the room and was in meetings. There actually is one actual nice thing I can say about my stay. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. My room was not clean. Carpet was dirty and there were broken wires on floor. No microoven in room. No drinking water. Chair provided was not working. Seems no maintenance of rooms and hotel. Only good thing is location , close to restaurants and loblaws store.
