Stayed at this hotel and overall had a very positive experience. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent the room was clean, well maintained, and comfortable, with everything functioning as expected. We stayed in a room with a fireplace, which added a nice atmosphere and made the stay especially enjoyable after a long day outdoors. A small downside was that the room temperature felt quite warm, even with the heater in use. Better temperature control would improve comfort. One more thing to note: after booking, there were multiple emails sent by the booking platform, which felt a bit excessive. Not a major issue, but worth mentioning. Overall, a solid and pleasant stay. Would consider staying here again and would recommend it to others looking for good value accommodation in Canmore.

Really clean beautifully updated rooms with comfy beds. Huge TV above the fireplace. Walking distance to everything. They also really stick to the quiet after 10pm policy. Would stay again for sure.

Northwinds is a decent hotel in Canmore. As with other Basecamp resorts I’ve been to, I generally find the service to be very hands off. However, for the price point and location, this isn’t the end of the world. If you have a busy day in Canmore and need somewhere comfortable to call home at the end of the day, northwinds is a fantastic option. There are little things that could make the stay more comfortable. We asked for cutlery at one point and there was nothing other than a fork available. Additionally, as others have noted the main floor can get a little noisy. However, the room was clean and comfortable.

If you want a good night sleep - AVOID THIS HOTEL. Stayed here for 2 nights - each morning and evening was horrible in our room (Room 123). There are no insulation and we could hear everything -people checking in and out, when people would walk or have a conversation in the hallway, people going up and down the stairs and rolling their luggage, even just regular footsteps. The room above us - we could hear every footsteps they took, when they would open their drawer, turn on the shower - you can hear a pin drop, felt like we were staying in a basement suite. My partner and I wanted to love this place because the room was beautiful and staff provided great service- however 2 restless nights was not worth it for us. Their extra cost for an early check in ($30/hr) and late checkout is also ridiculous- never had a problem with other hotels when this happens. We are usually in Canmore every 3 months - we will now be avoiding staying in this hotel.
